The Moxley Legacy

The Moxley Legacy: Gen 2.4

So, last update I did something so magnificently stupid that someone ought to give me a medal.

Even worse? After playing this game for twelve years, I didn’t know it was stupid.

Here is the stupid thing I did.

The Moxley Legacy
For the love of all that is holy DO NOT GIFT GRAVE STONES.

I have managed to destroy my legacy, for the sake of a quick joke. I am ridiculously stupid.

Since that update, I haven’t managed to get into Nikki’s lot for longer than a minute before it crashes my game. At first, I didn’t even know what was wrong, so I cleared out my downloads – which, to be fair, I should’ve done ages ago. Quick pro-tip? Use this wonderful, awesome and magical tutorial.

Eventually, after a bit of googling, it suddenly occurred to me that gravestones are odd little blighters, and Maxis gave us free rein to do what we want to them, despite the face it will bork games. And that’s when I found out that gifting tombstones is fatal to the lot.

So, since I didn’t want to start a new legacy, I moved over to Brie’s lot. Which crashed, because she had the gravestone too. I managed to reload, then the first thing I did was send the tombstone to a custom community lot, then reloaded, and Brie’s lot now works.

Only problem, I’d played Brie a bit so she and Sorin are married and have two kids already, so we missed the toddler stage.

tl;dr: WE ARE PLAYING BRIE NOW BECAUSE I AM STUPID.

Nikki, gen 2 heir, attended college where she was initially Grilled Cheese, and it drove me up the wall. Thankfully, she did well enough to re-roll her aspiration and became Popularity instead.

Her lifetime want is to have 50 Dream Dates, which is awesome. It’s one of my favourite aspirations, because it keeps the Sims happy, mood-boosted and if you date enough rich folks, you get lots of free swag.

All dream dates so far have taken place with the love of her life, Garruck. Garruck’s twin brother, Sorin, is married to Nikki’s twin sister, Brie. Brie is awesome. She cuts bitches.

Also, Nattie and Tyson, Brie and Nikki’s older siblings exist. And nobody cares.

Nikki is now moving home to live with her mothers, Mickie and Harriet.

The Moxley Legacy: Gen 2.1

Catch up: 1.1 and 1.2

*adopts serious voice* Previously on the Moxley Legacy…

Our founder, Mickie, found NOBODY IN THE WORLD except for Harriet, so we married her and had two sets of twins: Tyson and Nattie, and Nikki and Brie.

Nattie became Little Miss Perfect despite the game’s insistence she missed ONE WHOLE DAY OF SCHOOL, Tyson started to unravel with unfulfilled family wants (ha!), Nikki realised she was the most beautiful thing in the world and Brie refused to react to anything, just like her mother, Harriet.

I sent them to college, and cheated a little to play Mickie up to the top of her career. She is now perma-plat.

I never announced it, but Nikki is heir.

The Moxley Legacy: Gen 1.2

Catch up: Gen 1.1

Sooo, quick catch up. Last update was full of fail. Not my Sims, but me. I failed to install necessary hacks, I didn’t have useful custom content, and my screen caps were mostly useless.

As far as the Moxleys are concerned, we started with founder, Mickie, who could find absolutely NO-ONE in the world, and then we fell in love with Harriet, the first Sim to walk by. Both women got pregnant, with batches of twins a day apart. First were Nattie and Tyson, then Nikki and Brie.

Also, Wing, my friend told me I’d been numbering this legacy wrong. I previously had switched over to the next generation number at birth, but apparently you only do that when the next gen torch-holder takes over. … continue reading The Moxley Legacy: Gen 1.2

Last we left off, Dove was pregnant, her brothers and sisters had resigned themselves to a long tragic existence as townies, and Ava’s right nipple was constantly on show. Oh, and Dove was in labour.

The Clancy Legacy: Generation 2.3

OMG, teh happinez! My computer blew up a few months ago, and after finally getting off my arse and installing The Sims, I found a back-up of my Clancy family on an old disc. Ok, I had played the kids up to college, and now Jake and Elwood are now toddlers, but whatever! I have Ava and Captain Dumbass back! Oh, the happiness.

Catch up:

1.1

2.1 | 2.2

If you cannot be bothered to catch up, the recap is: Ava is a family sim, and she is married to the ex-vampire, Captain Dumbass (whose name I have changed using InSim, so I have no idea what he was really called). They have six children (three lots of twins): Corey and Carrie, Dana and Dove, and Jake and Elwood.

Ava was murdered by the Nanny, and Captain Dumbass moved in The Not-Mum.

I love/hate them all, so I have no idea who might end up being heir. Although I do love Dove a little bit more than everyone else.

Oh, and another thing, the kids looked like chipmunks in my last update and now they all look like angels. I have not done anything to them to change their looks – the difference is: brand new computer with an extra gig of ram, heavenly default replacement skins, and me discovering Gadwin for awesome screen caps, and The Booty for pretty hair and clothing. Oh, and Dove and Ava’s hair are different in this update because I accidentally removed their meshes.

Downside of replacement skins? Ava’s right nipple is constantly on show. Ignore it.

So, brand new legacy, and since my previous legacies have been far too successful (before the epic death of my computer), I thought the ISBI challenge was quite appealing. Despite the amount of grumbles about it on simsecret!

The Cobb Legacy 1.1
Well, since my last legacy crashed and burned on generation 2, thanks to a couple of dodgy downloads, I’m being extra careful this time.

So, let’s get started. This is Netitia, known as Nettie, my new founder. As you can see from her stats, she’s not the nicest person in the world (more of a Wilma than a Nettie… points to anyone who gets that). But she’s cute, and that’s what counts. If you don’t believe me, check how many people loved Danica Dallas.

RIP Legacies

24 January 2008

I have no idea exactly what I installed, but I do think it was part of an all-in-one house set, but whatever it was, it killed my computer. Or at least, corrupted my little Simmies to death. I’ve tried removing bits and pieces of what I downloaded, but thanks to my killer obsession with putting things in the “right” folder, I scattered it all over the place, and have no idea exactly what killed my Sims.

So, I have a new policy on downloads, download something, make a new folder, extract it there, test, and if the test proves successful, then I move things around to my liking.

That said, my little Simmies are dead (this time for good, Ava). So, I’ve done a new install, and re-downloaded everything, and now I’m starting a new legacy. I wish I had backed up my neighbourhoods a little more often. I’m going to miss Captain Dumbass.

RIP Ava (again), Captain Dumbass, The Not-Mum, Carrie, Corey, Dana, Dove, Jake and Elwood. I shall miss you.

PS: Elwood was going to be heir. He turned out real pretty.
